Abstrakt

Intravenózní přístupy jsou významným kritickým faktorem v procesu ošetřovatelské péče o dětské pacienty. PICC jsou v rámci jednotek intenzivní péče hojně využívány k přístupu k centrálnímu žilnímu systému, nicméně postupy a standardy praxe kolem zavádění PICC a následné péče se liší. Tento přehledový článek mapuje praktické postupy dostupné v současné literatuře a je napsán s edukačním záměrem pro zdravotníky pečující o děti se zavedeným PICC katetrem. Článek zahrnuje indikace a kontraindikace zavádění PICC katetru u dětí, techniku zavádění, komplikace spojené se zaváděním i zavedeným katetrem (PICC). Zaobírá se charakteristikou ošetřovatelské péče o invazivní PICC katetr. Implementací aktuálních postupů do vysoce profesionální péče o katétry se výrazně zvýší bezpečnost pacienta a sníží počet komplikací.
